Parents today are over-protective. They should let their children take part in adventurous, even risky, activities to prepare them for later life. Write an article for a broadsheet newspaper in which you argue for or against this statement.

Many older people do not use modern technology because they do not understand it and are perhaps afraid of it. You have been asked to give a talk to older people encouraging them to make use of modern technology. Write what you would say.

people actually talking to one another, as opposed to mindlessly tapping away at a phone screen. Which is ironic really, because Im here today to try and encourage you to take up the odd bit of mindless tapping yourselves.

Hello ladies and lads. I am grateful to you for gracing me the great gratification of greeting you grandmas and granddads. Its grand to meet people who grasp that gripping phones is not the way to converse or communicate casually. You can conceptualise

that casual conversation needs close contact. Anecdote A FACT OPINION

Ticker Tape Moments 6 Stage Narrative Structure Exordium There's been another mass shooting in America. This time in a

community college in Oregon. That means there are more American families, moms, dads, children, whose lives have been changed forever. That means there's another community stunned with grief, and communities across the country forced to relieve their own anguish and parents across the country who are scared because they know it might have been their families, or their children.

I've been to Roseburg, Oregon. There are really good people there. I want to thank all the first responders whose bravery likely saved some lives today. 6 Stage Narrative Structure Exordium Narratio

We are the only advanced country on earth that sees these kinds of mass shootings every few months. You know earlier this year, I answered a question in an interview by saying, "The United States of America is the only advanced nation on earth in which we do not have sufficient common sense gun safety laws even in the face of repeated mass killings." And later that day, there was a

mass shooting in Lafayette, Louisiana. That day. Somehow this has become routine. The reporting is routine. My response here at this podium ends up being routine. The conversation in the aftermath of it. We've become numb to this. We talked about this after Columbine, and Blacksburg, after Tucson, after Newtown, after Aurora, after Charleston.

6 Stage Narrative Structure Exordium Narratio Divisio And what's become routine, of course, is the response of those who oppose any kind of common sense gun

legislation. Right now, I can imagine the press release is being cranked out. "We need more guns," they'll argue. "Fewer gun safety laws." 6 Stage Narrative Structure

Exordium Narratio Divisio Proof Refutation There is a gun for roughly every man woman and child in America. So how can

you with a straight face make the argument that more guns will make us safer? We know that states with the most gun laws tend to have the fewest gun deaths. So the notion that gun laws don't work, or just will make it harder for law-abiding citizens and criminals will still get their guns, is not borne out by the evidence.

6 Stage Narrative Structure Exordium Narratio Divisio Proof Refutation

We know that other countries, in response to one mass shooting, have been able to craft laws that almost eliminate mass shootings. Friends of ours, allies of ours. Great Britain. Australia. Countries like ours. When Americans are killed in mine disasters, we worked to make mines safer. When Americans are

killed in floods and hurricanes we make communities safer. When roads are unsafe, we fix them, to reduce auto fatalities. We have seat belt laws because we know it saves lives 6 Stage Narrative Structure Exordium

condolences to families in these circumstances. But based on my experience as president, I can't guarantee that, and that is terrible to say. And it can change. May God bless the memories of those who were killed today. May he bring comfort to their families, and courage to the injured as they fight their way back, and may he give us the strength

to come together and find the courage to change. Thank you. Bring your A Game. Anadpiplosis Antithesis Anaphora

Live Modelling. Discounts Stormzy Dear Stormzy aka Big Mike aka The Problem aka Wicked Skengman, I am an English Teacher, working in a school in Guildford,

and after teaching them a recent unit of work entitled The Art of Rhetoric, I have set my Year 9 students a simple task: Write a letter to a celebrity, persuading them to write you a reply. Whilst students who receive a reply will receive a small prize from me, the idealist in me hopes that the biggest prize will be the realisation that the written word can, quite

simply, get things done. Its always seemed fair to me, that anything I ask of my students, I do myself. And so, here I am, writing to you, in the hope that you can send me a written and signed response to this letter. But thats not all. My students have urged me to go a step further and so Im going to push my luck and ask you this: Can I be in

your next music video? I understand that youre a busy man, and that you have other things going on, but this is important. Whilst many of my students have tried hard this term, some of them suffer from a debilitating lack of respect for education and its power. This could change that. And plus, itll just be funny. I realise that a turn in a music video may be asking a bit

much, and so Id just like to put a few explanations as to why you should send me a written response to this letter. Firstly, itll make the students like me. I know I shouldnt really care if they like me or not, but lets be straight: lifes much easier when people like you. And whilst I will continue in my attempts to praise, reward, and inspire my students, the sad fact is that these efforts dont always inspire favourable

opinion. The possession of a letter from you, however, will earn me much kudos. There is a more personal reason for me writing to you. Your single, Shut Up was released at the time of my daughter being born. In the early months of her life, a viewing of the video for Shut Up was one of the only things that kept her quiet. (I think it was the bright red tracksuit that mesmerised her-not the expletives). Now, as she begins to acquire language, I sadly

cant play her most of your catalogue, but I have fond memories of her overly-round head bobbing along to the beat of Shut Up as her mother and I tried to regain composure in the frantic heat of early parenthood; itd be wonderful to regale her with this memory in her later years and an accompanying letter, from your good self, would enhance this experience. The most important reason you should reply is simple: it

will show my students what the written word can achieve. Geeky English teacher receives letter from Number One selling Grime Artist. You couldnt write it. Exceptyou could. Ive written this letter. If you write a reply, weve written that story. Weve written a story whose message centres around the power of the written word and what can be achieved when people simply pick up a pen and decide to get things done. A letter from

you would be conclusive proof of that fact; it would turn this story into a story that is not only heard, but realised. It is with great anticipation, hope, and excitement, that I await your response. Yours sincerely, Improvements
