Applying Online Start by checking application deadlines Begin applications with earliest deadline first Apply either through the college website or Common Application website (commonapp.org) HOW CAN PARENTS HELP? Help your student prioritize their
responsibilities Discuss the application deadlines that your student plans to meet in advance Encourage them to be organized Help them to make a plan o Hang college application calendar or checklists in a common area (kitchen, etc.)

Teacher Recommendations Ask two teachers in person Use recommendation form for teachers- available in the Counseling Center and on the website Put teacher recommendation request in Naviance Give at least 3 weeks notice
Check Naviance or confirm with teacher(s) to see when letters have been uploaded Note - Once uploaded, you will not be able to read teacher recommendations TEACHERS RECOMMENDATIONS IN NAVIANCE To submit teacher recommendation request in Naviance:
Click on Colleges Click on Apply to College Click Letters of Recommendation Click Add Request Select teachers name from drop down bar Choose all current and future colleges I add to my Colleges Im Applying to List. Click Submit Request
Check Naviance to see when letters have been completed. You will NOT be permitted to see the letter. When teachers write you a letter, they will also fill out the Common Application teacher form electronically. Please remind your teachers if you need Common Application paperwork filled out. OFFICIAL transcript. Must list REAL deadline. If letters of recommendation are needed- do NOT turn in form until you see in progress in Naviance. Must submit at least 2 weeks prior to deadline. Turn all transcript requests into Mrs.
